I just made a visit up to Tennessee to visit one of my bro’s and bagged my first deer. From a very expensive tree
-stand, I shot out of a Mosin-Nagant and dropped a young doe with one shot. It ended up going right through the heart. To get the full Tennessee experience, Astro and I gutted it, skinned it, and chopped it up into workable pieces of meat. From there, Astro’s mom diced up the meat and I ended up getting about 35 lbs worth of usable deer-meat. Just in time for the upcoming “jerk-off“: a competition on who among us has the best jerky recipe: Me, Astro, Dan from Madison, JohnnyJ, and Skaterat. The winner TBD.

That tree stand was quite expensive – it took over twenty years to build and it still isn’t finished. Glad you got one, though. I wouldn’t want you to look like a loser (like JohnnyJ, for example…)
Hey guys – the wife says Astro would look about 15 years younger if he would FOR GODS SAKE take my advice and shave his head and the beard.
Funny she thinks my “second life” is talking here and at the astronomicon. Beats me.
I have the flank steak marinating tonight for first run tomorrow – one dry rub and one wet marinade. Should be interesting. Sorry I didn’t get a deer with the odyssey.
so what… john got 50 lbs of meat off his muley. j/k. that’s awesome dude.
If you’re still bringing up that roast I can make it for New Year’s Eve. I’ve got some ideas for it…
Snake, your hunting with the unibomber now? i thought he was on lock-down in Colorado.
He must’ve escaped to Tennessee where he’s in hiding at his parents house in an undisclosed location
