Like my mother, I think I’ve dabbled in most things artsy-farsty since I was a child (minus anything that has to do with cloth or yarn).  Recently, my artistic flare has gotten a little more complex with scrapbooking, photography, and stained glass (more on that in a later post).

The other night, I found some of my mom’s charcoal pencils and got inspired to draw.  It has been literally 10+ years since I drew anything.  The first was a picture of my niece Maggie.  I was somewhat surprised as to how it turned out.  I guess it’s kind of like riding a bike.  You never really forget and once you do it again, it amazes you how easily it comes.

Here are a few I’ve done in the past few days and the accompanying photo.  I know Brenden doesn’t look quite-the-same  but I’m allotting myself a learning curve :
