It’s kinda funny once you have a kid… they become the main thing you think about and want to talk about. The problem is that (at least when I put myself in my bachelor shoes) you, as a proud parent, are the only one that wants to talk about it constantly. Maybe close family will want to hear every hanging detail too, but for your average friend out there, I’m sure occasional coverage spanning a max of 5 minutes is about all they can stomach.
I intend to stick to that rule-of-thumb with this website. The problem is that I think it’ll be a good compromise for the people that normally scope the site, but I know I will leave the families (Pam’s and mine) wanting more coverage. My solution: up the photo album project to #1.
After an all-nighter of coding and a few hours in front of Photoshop, the Photo Album section is ready to go. You’ll notice the ejection-handle style button (appropriately labeled) at the top of the page… that will take you to the album area (to get back, click anywhere around the “Snakeye” explosion). Of course Brenden is taking center stage for the startup, but other categories will soon follow.
Call it “SnakeVision:” you’ll be able to see the average, subtle details of life through my eyes. It may not be post-worthy, but at least you can keep tabs on what’s going on through pictures. A sidebar notification of new pictures will follow soon (so you know when it’s updated).
UPDATE: Added a “Recently Added” photos to the sidebar at right. If you click on either photo, it will show you that photo and that’s it. You’ll have to head over to “Photo Albums” to see the rest. The side bar will only show a max of two photos (the two most recent ones); there may be more in the gallery though.
