To follow up from the construction:
It’s been over a year since I lasted updated this site, both gutting it (coding) and giving it a new make-over (graphic design). As anyone who keeps a site knows, you’re never quite happy with things and there’s always tinkering to be done to make something slightly better. Hell, that’s what I’ve done over the past 2 years with the old design. Plus, it’s like rearranging a room: there’s always some newness and change to keep things interesting.
Well, the advantage of kid-time (at least when they’re really young and sleep a lot) is that Brenden quickly falls asleep on me and usually stays that way for a few hours – perfect time to work coding issues and mess with photoshop to get the new site the way I want it. Here’s what I’ve come up with.
It’s not perfect yet, but I’m happy with it being mostly flaw-free enough to go ahead and set it as the new Snakesite. Sure, I’ll be making minor changes as time goes on, until I get tired of looking at this and/or new coding changes come out. For now, I’m still looking for coding that will give me a Blogger-style Blogroll (where you can see activity at a glance)… obviously that’ll be one of the minor changes once I find it. In the future I’ll probably expand to a “Photo Album” page as well, where I can showcase my favorite pics that I’ve taken or photoshopped. But one thing at a time…
I think you’ll find this just as user-friendly as the v2.0 design. You still click on the top of the website where it says Snakeye to go “home,” and all the menus seem pretty straight-forward. If anyone runs into any snags, lemme know and I’ll do my best to fix it.
